The Billentis ‘E-Invoicing / E-Billing in Europe and abroad’ report is the definitive guide to e-invoicing and e-billing in Europe. The report provides detailed evidence that demonstrates the huge advances in e-Invoicing but also the considerable savings that are still available to businesses across Europe.
Bruno Koch, the report’s author, estimates that across Europe, businesses can save at least 1-2% of turnover by replacing paper invoices and automating the process. From a European perspective, that translates into €10 - €20 billion in potential savings of an estimated 2010 European GDP of €10.65 trillion. Factoring in that there is already a degree of e-Invoicing in place in Europe and that some countries (Denmark, Sweden and Finland) are well advanced in e-Invoicing, the real potential in savings is realistically a lot lower but there is nonetheless a substantial saving that lies untapped.
